Custom PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified) Extrusion
Preferred Plastics is a leading extruder of custom PETG, or glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate, parts and components.
What Is PETG?
PETG is a thermoplastic polymer resin that is lightweight and can be either rigid or semi-rigid. It offers good resistance to alcohol, solvents, and gas, with fair resistance to moisture. PETG is impact resistant and strong, and exhibits high mechanical strength. It can be easily sheet extruded. It is a mid-range material that can be used as an acrylic alternative for some applications.
PETG is used for applications in the point-of-purchase/display, retail, construction, and medical industries. Some of the custom PETG parts we manufacture at Preferred Plastics are:
- POP displays
- Crash rails
- Edge protectors
- Corner guards
- High temperature resistance
- Excellent toughness
- Some grades FDA approved
- Excellent clarity
PETG can be recycled, and we can assist you in selecting recycled PETG or an alternative if it is appropriate for your project. At Preferred Plastics, we utilize sustainable, environmentally-responsible manufacturing practices, to minimize waste and maximize energy efficiency in our manufacturing.
