Custom ABS Plastic Extrusion
Preferred Plastics extrudes high-quality custom plastic parts using ABS. A leading custom extruder, Preferred Plastics offers an inventory of standard compounds of ABS for use in industrial applications.
What is ABS Plastic?
Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is a terpolymer consisting of acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene. It is a light-weight, strong, rigid, resilient thermoplastic material. It has high impact and high mechanical strength, excellent electrical properties, and abrasion and moisture resistant. In addition, ABS exhibits high chemical resistance to many acids, alkalis, oils, and salts. It can be manufactured in different formulations to meet 2 wide variety of applications.
ABS is used for applications in the construction, plumbing, marine, and furniture industries. Some of the custom ABS parts we manufacture at Preferred Plastics are:
- Machine guards and guides
- Trays & storage bins
- Automotive parts
- Sports equipment
- POP components
- Office equipment
- Appliance components
- Good impact resistance with toughness and rigidity
- Good processability with wide temperature range
- Low cost
ABS Plastic Extrusion
Composite windows, vinyl fencing, and freezer gaskets are all examples of the wide variety of products that are produced using the high-volume plastic extrusion manufacturing process.
Plastic extrusion is continuous and capable of high volume output, making it a more economical plastics manufacturing method than other processes. In addition, tooling costs are relatively low.
Plastic extrusion works particularly well for production of plastic parts that have consistent wall thicknesses, and for profiles that are wider and longer than those produced by other types of manufacturing. Plastic films, bags, piping, tubing, rods, weather stripping, and deck railing are just a few of the many products that are successfully and economically produced by plastic extrusion.
We have the capabilities to extrude your product using a wide range of thermoplastic materials, including specialty compounds.
ABS can be recycled; the recycled material is more economical to use for manufacturing than virgin material. We can assist you in selecting environmentally friendly alternatives or compounds for your project. At Preferred Plastics, we utilize sustainable, environmentally-responsible manufacturing practices, to minimize waste and maximize energy efficiency in our manufacturing.
Preferred Plastics operates two large production facilities that provide the capacity to extrude simple and complex shapes to the tightest tolerances and exacting requirements. Our turnkey services include complete finishing services, including close tolerance cutting, precision drilling, notching, punching, trimming, welding, stamping, and custom packaging. Preferred Plastics is ISO 9001:2008 certified.
At Preferred Plastics, we are committed to manufacturing a high-quality part that meets your expectations, is delivered on time and on budget – all supported by superior customer service.
